"Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert." (Isaiah 35:6)
healing is a process, like getting sick. both take time. the miracle above is not that the lame man "leaps like a deer" (that is poetic license/metaphor); but that in being lame, the man is willing to make the effort. he is clear about not "staying down", sure about the struggle to build strength over comfort; to be seen (impurities included), instead of sinking into the oblivion of "forgotten"; lacking motivation. the "leap" is one of faith, not knowing what is out there, but understanding that whatever it is, it is the essence of life itself.
