i am certainly not a believer in theology, astrology, numerology, scientology or any of the other "ologies" out there. i extend my ap"ology" in advance if this idea steps on any toes. i do however have a propensity to experiment with ideas and poke around before writing. today, i chose a photo of my six pets in the bed...
mostly because since i have been bed-ridden, my pets have provided me with constant company and acceptance. i haven't walked them in over a week. my husband has taken over that task. the six of them stay all day on my bed or the floor next to it. they keep me company. if i get up to walk around a bit, they follow me. my six shadows, my furry companions who hear me cry in the night without getting upset. i wanted to dedicate this small stone to them, and thought about the significance of having 6 pets. here is what is said about 6:
Six represents harmony, balance, sincerity, love, and truth. Six naturally reveals solutions for us in a calm, unfolding manner. We invoke the Six when we need delicate diplomacy when dealing with sensitive matters. The spiritual meaning of number Six also deals with enlightenment; specifically "lighting" our path in areas we require spiritual and mental balance. Sixes beckon us to administer compassion and consciously choose forgiveness in a situation.
six truths
1) pets ask for little and give much.
2) pets detect changes in human behavior, like joy, illness or sadness and respond accordingly.
3) pets are good medicine. they have been shown to reduce stress, cholesterol, heart rate and blood pressure.
4) pets offer a sense of well-being and encouragement.
5) pets are accepting of their caregivers in spite of their imperfections.
6) pets make me happy. they put a smile on my face every day. when the dogs want to be petted, they do not hesitate to let me know. when cats purr in my ear, it is as calming as ocean waves.
i love them all, and they have given me far more than i can ever give them in return.
sammie, heart, keeley, nora, crackers and barack: "i love you".
